Turkey River Farm

ELKPORT, IA

Turkey River Farm grows shiitake mushrooms under the shade of a deciduous tree canopy. They use bolts of hardwoods like maple and oak to grow the mushrooms, inoculating the logs in early spring and letting them grow for a full year before soaking them to induce mushroom growth. Turkey River Farm is located in Elkport, Iowa. The farm cares as deeply about sustaining rural communities as they do about protecting natural resources and providing you with delicious produce.


Reconnected Farm

DORCHESTER, IA

Reconnected Farm is a diversified family farm that has had its roots in northeast Iowa/southeast Minnesota since the 1850s. Through the generations their family has grown just about everything. In March of 2020 they decided to experiment with vertical growing and the fungi kingdom. Today, they are growing between 100 to 150 pounds of specialty mushrooms in a 8x20 storage container every single week. All of their mushrooms are grown using organic substrates, while never using chemicals. You can find their mushrooms in a grocery store near you! They are also frequent vendors at the Decorah, Hokah, La Crosse, and Spring Grove farmers markets.


Jupiter Ridge Farm

GARBER, IA

Jupiter Ridge Farm produces sustainably and regeneratively grown gourmet mushrooms, herbs, and vegetables in Garber, Iowa. Mushrooms include a variety of shiitake, oysters, and lion’s mane grown organically on hardwood logs that are ethically and locally sourced using sustainable forestry practices. Jupiter Ridge’s mushrooms have found their way to many restaurants in the surrounding areas and can be found at the Dubuque Farmers Market in summer, and occasionally in their CSA and farm share box program.

Fiddlehead Knob Farm

LEROY, MN

Fiddlehead Knob is a small fourth-generation family farmstead in rural LeRoy, Minnesota the emphasizes sustainable growing methods. They specialize in growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms in addition to offering foraged mushrooms and other forest specialties, as they are seasonally available.

Fiddlehead Knob primarily cultivates their mushrooms outdoors on logs and indoors in a climate controlled space. Mushrooms and product availability varies by season. Some of their gourmet mushrooms include; shiitake, oyster, winecap, morels, hen of the woods, and many more!
